The current PQ arrangements have been reviewed and as a result a revised framework has been developed. GSCC hold responsibility for this framework, in particular for the approval of awards and updates can be found on the GSCC website
The approach agreed by Skills for Care is that suitable arrangements are put in place in each region to support employers to make strategic decisions about the numbers and type of PQ programmes that they will require and will support. This planning will require participation of employers through the regional planning networks and universities who offer PQ programmes. Work based learning and assessment capacity issues and information on workforce data and skills needs will inform this activity.

Applications for Autumn/Winter 2008/09 funding are now being accepted.

Below is guidance to enable voluntary organisations apply for up to 30 PQ bursaries for registered social workers within their organisation. You may claim bursaries for staff currently undertaking programmes and for those who will be starting a PQ programme or module before April 2009.
Applications for Winter 2008 funding are now being accepted, the closing date for this is 22nd December 2008
