Involving Service Users and Carers

Objective

To develop the capacity for service user and carer involvement in the delivery and assessment of practice learning.

This project group specifically seeks to promote and support the participation of service users and carers in providing practice learning opportunities, particularly among organisations that are led or controlled by those who use health and social care services. This objective is being tackled through national information events and research that will promote such activity amongst service user and carer led organisations and capture examples of good practice already underway in some regions.

Outcomes

• Increased service user and carer participation in practice learning delivery and assessment
• Service users and carers participation is engaged in a strategically planned manner
• Increased number of practice learning opportunities within service user led and carer led organisations
• Provision of guide to increase service user and carer participation in practice learning
