Evaluation of social work degree

Evaluation of the implementation and impact of the new degree funded by the DH.

In September 2003, the Diploma in Social Work (DipSW) was replaced in England by a new degree level qualification.

In order to evaluate the implementation and impact of the new degree (including postgraduate routes to qualification) in Social Work, the Department of Health decided to commission external research, following an open competitive tender process.
